7th Grade   Pre-Algebra - topics include solving equations, exponents, rational numbers, ratio, proportion, percents, probability, linear functions and much more…

8th Grade – Algebra – we offer two levels in Algebra – one is the standard 8th grade course and the second is our advanced course which is geared to high achievers.

MORE ABOUT OUR PHILOSOPHY

·       We use innovative, state of the art technology – Smartboards, graphing calculators and computers….every day.

·       Block classes – all grades have ‘block’ classes twice a week.

·       Block projects – this term all students are required to do a math project.  The project must be related to math and is geared to allow students to choose topics that excite them.  Here are some of our more popular ones:

Building and Exploring Polyhedra

Computer Related Projects – building websites, emulating calculators.

Probability – learn about ‘chance’ doing experiments with M&M’s and card games.

Sports Statistics – students are analyzing and graphing statistics related to North Jersey, NFL, NBA.

Graphing – students are transforming pictures, images, and lines using graphing calculators.

Binary math – learn how to work and perform operations using base 2 to base 16 (hexadecimal).

Stocks and Currency Conversion – projects involve currency conversion to and from US$ as well as tracking imaginary investments.
