New Jersey Cake!

This is a class project and it is essential that every student participate.  It is due on Wednesday, June 16, 2010

 

Here are the details:

* Each student is assigned a county of New Jersey.

* The students are to research their own counties. 

* This research will give the students ideas about how to decorate their cake.

* At least several days before our project, help your child bake a 9’ by 13’ cake, they can bake any kind of cake –chocolate, white or funfetti. 

*Place cake in freezer.  Freezing the cake helps with cutting.

* You will receive your county template on Monday, June 14th.  Trace the template onto wax paper.

*The night before our project, (Tues, June 15th, 2009) place template of county on top of the frozen cake and cut to shape.

* Decorate cake to represent your county.  If icing the cake do not ice the sides.

*Attach county name to cake to help with assembly. 

*Send cake into school the morning of Wednesday, June 16th.

*Decoration suggestions: colored sugar, chocolate bits, cookies, wafers, goldfish crackers, candy (gummy fish, bears, fruits), real fruit & vegetables.

*there are 21 counties in NJ, Hudson and Passaic county are combined for this assignment because of their small size.

                   If you are interested in assisting us on with assembly of our cake on Wednesday, June 15th, please print and sign this page and return to school as soon as possible.  We only need a few parents so this will be first come basis.  I will contact you with more details if you are chosen to help!
